OX2R (Orexin Receptor 2) is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by the orexin neuropeptides orexin-A and orexin-B. It plays a central role in regulating arousal, wakefulness, and energy homeostasis. OX2R is expressed broadly in the brain, including the histaminergic tuberomammillary nucleus and the dorsal raphe.
